Dr. Mary Barnes-Tilley serves as Dean of Academic Affairs for Collin College on the Plano Campus. She is responsible for overseeing the operations of thirteen academic and workforce disciplines. Mary has been in higher education for 23 years which includes 22 years of teaching and 15 years in an administrative role.
Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Brenham, Texas, Mary graduated from Blinn College in 1993, The University of Texas at Austin in 1995, Sam Houston State University in 1997, and Texas A&M University in 2011. Mary has spent most of her life serving her community in various capacities, including serving as a city council member and serving various non-profit organizations. She moved to McKinney in 2017 with her husband, Jeff, and two children, Hale, 20, and Kennedy, 12.
Understanding the importance of public service, and eager to serve her new city, Mary was recently appointed to the McKinney Community Development Corporation Board. She is excited to be part of MCDC to help in providing a great community to live and work.
