Parks and green spaces enhance our community by providing activities and entertainment opportunities for residents and visitors. Over the past 4 years, more than 20 parks have been built or renovated using a portion of the 5.5 million dollars that is committed until 2025 for park development. Supporting new, and upgrading existing, housing to increase the opportunity for more residents to live, work and play in McKinney.
Supporting the growth of McKinney and enhancing the livability is provided in the form of Retail Development Grants and Projects Grants. Through the years, the funds from these grants have helped build the facilities that attach residents, visitors and businesses to McKinney.
Promotional and Community Events are supported through grants not to exceed $15,000 per grant for initiatives, activities and events that promote the City of McKinney for the purpose of developing new or expanded business opportunities, attracting visitors to our community and enhancing quality of life for McKinney residents. Promotional grant opportunities are offered two times per year and support a wide range of activities.
